Opened in 1986, the Halle Saint Pierre is a cultural center located at the foot of Montmartre's hillock. It was built in 1868 by a disciple of the French architect Baltard and was first used as a market. In its new function the Halle Saint Pierre today is a welcoming and lively cultural place housing a Museum of Naïve Art (the Max Fourny Collection) and a series of temporary shows dedicated to outsider, naïve, folk and "raw" art (art brut). Gathered by Mrs and Mr Fourny, the collection includes over 500 paintings and 80 sculptures.
